The final home game of the Blackhawks turn-around season is in the books. It was a great game, including the highest attendance of the season at an amazing 21,929 people. Looking around a packed stadium was a very interesting and exciting thing.
Although the Hawks didn't make the playoffs, this has been the most exciting and most important season in years. The new ownership has brought back Pride to the city of Chicago, and the Hawks. When the game was over, not a single person left the building, and stood as they commemorated their Chicago Blackhawks on a wonderful season./
Now lets just make a list of all the things Rocky has done that his old man, Bill, wouldn't have done.
Fan appreciation night
Hired a real team president besides Bob Pulford
Bring back Chicago legends such as Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, and Tony Esposito.
Announced that all Chicago Blackhawk games will be on TV
Re-sign players like Brent Sopel, Patrick Sharp, and Brent Seabrook to multiyear deals
I believe Rocky still needs to make three moves to complete the makeover of this team. If these three moves are completed Rocky will become a legend and a hero to all Hawks fans.
Bring back Jeremy Roenick
Bring back Pat Foley
Bring back Wayne Mesmer
It was nice to see a packed house on a game that had no meaning. A sold out game for tonight's game shows the players, coaches, and ownership the real fans they have behind them. If we the fans continue to support this team, Rocky will reward us with outstanding players, and a fantastic team. Go Blackhawks, and I get wait till opening night next year.
